Therapeutic Getaway: Laguna Hot Spring
It’s summertime, time for swimsuits, sunshine, and maybe a plunge. But today, my family and I ventured to Barangay Pansol, Calamba, for a different kind of dip: a natural hot spring retreat with fish spa therapy, all for some soothing relief, not a tan.

Mom has been frequenting this place with her aerobics
friends for years, and when my back started acting up, she scheduled our visit.
The entrance fee is a wallet-friendly ₱80 per person, and you’re welcome to
bring your own food (no corkage fee!). We picked up lunch at KFC on the way and
simply rented a table inside for ₱300.
Nestled at the foot of Mt. Makiling, this hot spring
has been cherished since 1949 for its healing waters.

Unlike typical pools, the water here is naturally hot, flowing continuously from the spring. The bottom is rugged. Lava rock that provides gentle foot exfoliation.
By sitting or standing still, you’re treated to a natural fish spa. Tiny
Doctor Fish nibble away your dead skin. It tickles at first, but soon, it becomes
deeply relaxing.
