Soaring High in Bukidnon: Conquering the Dahilayan Zipline

Afraid of heights? Perfect. Bukidnon has just the thing to make your knees shake and your heart soar! Strap in, go full Superman mode, and zipline your fear away one scream at a time. Who knew flying face-first could be this fun?

A Thrilling Start

One summer, I embarked on a journey from Cebu to Cagayan de Oro to reach Bukidnon, eager to experience the famed Dahilayan Adventure Park. Located in Brgy. Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, the park is renowned for its 840-meter dual zipline, the longest in Asia.

The drive from Cagayan de Oro to the park was scenic, passing through the lush Del Monte Plantation. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly staff and suited up in the signature yellow-and-black harness, reminiscent of a bumblebee, but undeniably stylish.
The Zipline Experience

As the first visitor of the day, I had the unique opportunity to witness the preparation of the equipment and take in the breathtaking mountain views. When it was finally my turn, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. I rehearsed my battle cry, a trick to quell my nerves. Then I stepped off the platform…
And flew.

The 840-meter zipline offers speeds ranging from 60 to 80 km/h and a 100-meter drop, providing an adrenaline rush that's hard to match.

"Can I do it?" moment.

Yes! I can do it! (getting ready now).

Yeeeeesssss!

The wind roared in my ears as I soared horizontally above treetops. It was exhilarating, funny, and absolutely unforgettable. I screamed like a startled bird, then laughed like a kid, arms outstretched in full Superman form. I wish it had never ended.

The Cheer at Landing

When I reached the end, a cheering crowd welcomed me. Kids and elders alike applaud my “flight.” I felt humbled and proud.

Family-Style Rides & Selfie Fun

There were two shorter ziplines (320 m and 150 m), which were originally built as “warm-up lines”. After the big flight, these felt tame, but perfect for zipline selfies and fun poses.

The experience left such a strong impression on me that I can't help but recommend it every time travel comes up. It’s definitely a must-try adventure in Bukidnon, especially since Dahilayan has added new rides, including:
  • Drop Zone: A 120-ft free-fall pendulum swing
  • Razorback Mountain Coaster: A mountain coaster through pine groves
  • Skytower Base Jump, Python Roller Zipride, Flying Lizard, Ropes Course, and more.
Morning Return via Del Monte

On the way back to CDO, I breakfasted at the Del Monte plantation canteen, surrounded by endless pineapple fields and employees’ cottages. The food was surprisingly fresh, and the view was unforgettable.
